Hyderabad: The department of dermatology, venereology and leprology (DVL), Osmania Medical College and Hospital, observed World Vitiligo Day 2026 with an awareness programme that included patient examination, counselling sessions, myth-busting discussions, and distribution of educational free samples to enhance awareness about vitiligo and promote acceptance of those affected by the condition.
Participants held an awareness rally. The event saw the participation of Professors Dr. Bhumesh, Dr Madhubabu, Dr Aruna, assistant professors, senior residents, postgraduates and house surgeons of the department. The programme intended to spread the message that vitiligo was a medical condition, not a social barrier.
