Won't Let KCR Family Return to Power as Long as I'm in Politics: Revanth Reddy

Small villages will receive ₹5 lakh each, and larger ones ₹10 lakh, in addition to existing state and central funds

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has outlined a comprehensive, rural-centric blueprint for Telangana’s progress, asserting that national growth hinges on strengthening villages, which he called the "heart of the nation." His administration focuses on empowering rural communities and restoring public trust in governance.

The CM announced plans to channel special development grants directly to villages from his fund, bypassing political intermediaries. Small villages will receive ₹5 lakh each, and larger ones ₹10 lakh, in addition to existing state and central funds. He emphasised that these allocations are independent of any local MLA, MP, or minister, urging representatives to uphold public trust through dedicated service.
Revanth Reddy detailed welfare measures to improve daily life, especially for the poor and children:
- Expanded Nutrition: From next year, schoolchildren across Telangana will receive breakfast and a midday meal.
- Ration Cards: The government will take full responsibility for issuing ration cards to all households.
- Infrastructure Focus: He pledged complete road connectivity to every village and hamlet in the Kodangal segment.
- Constituency Support: His brother, Tirupati Reddy, will be locally available to address grievances in Kodangal constituency.
The Chief Minister strongly criticised former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao and BRS leadership. He accused the Kalvakuntla family of accumulating vast wealth through commissions while key irrigation projects like Palamuru, Kalwakurthy, Bhima, and Nettempadu remained incomplete. He claimed that despite ₹1.83 lakh crore paid to contractors over the past decade, water was blocked from reaching Kodangal, with no new irrigation from Krishna River schemes benefiting the area. He highlighted how Kalvakuntal family members who were once poor now own luxury cars.
Positioning Congress as the dominant force, Revanth Reddy stated that the party would secure a second term and remain in power in 2029. He dismissed KCR's recent statements, ridiculing claims of dominance after electoral defeats. The CM reflected on hardships his family faced under the previous government but committed to avoiding "vendetta politics," as it would harm the state. He asserted that the BRS collapse upon his swearing-in was the greatest punishment for his rivals.
Revanth Reddy vowed that, as long as he is active in politics, he will prevent KCR and the Kalvakuntla family from returning to power in Telangana. He stated that he works up to 18 hours daily to elevate the state's status and dignity, determined to continue people-centric governance and rural transformation.
