Women Begging with Children Were Given Counselling by CWC

Warangal : The officials of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit identified the women begging with small children at the traffic signal junction near Kakatiya University and were presented before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) here in Hanamkonda on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit Inspector P. Venkanna said that their team noticed five women of which four belonged to Gopalapuram region and one woman from Rajasthan begging near a traffic signal with their children who are below one year old and immediately took action by taking the matter to the notice of the CWC.
The women were taken into custody and presented before the CWC who were given counselling and were advised not to indulge in begging business and use their children for the purpose. They were told that if they are not able to nourish their children, they must seek help from the government or hand over their children to government agencies.
In response, the woman assured the officials that they would no longer indulge in begging and informed them that they would do hard work and support their children so that they can live respectable lives in the society.
Meanwhile, the CWC suggested to the officials the Child Protection, Child Help Line 1098 and Police to be alert and keep vigilance at traffic signals and other important places like temples and public places to prevent further such incidents.
The CWC members Dr. P. Sudhakar, S. Rajendra Prasad, P. Hymavathi, ASI Bhagya Lakshmi, Head constable Samiuddin, Child Line Coordinator Bhaskar, Bala Raksh Bhavan social worker G. Sunitha, M. Sujatha Devi, Childline Counselor K. Rajitha, Supervisors K. Prabha and M. Rajya Lakshmi was among those who were present along with others.
