Woman Labourer Robbed of Gold Under Pretext of Work, Pushed Into Well in Karimnagar
Labourer rescued after clinging inside agricultural well; police launch hunt for unidentified accused

Karimnagar: An unidentified man allegedly robbed a woman daily wage labourer of her gold ornaments and pushed her into an agricultural well near Nustulapur in Thimmapur mandal, police said on Thursday.
The victim, Laxmi, a resident of Kisannagar in Karimnagar town, had gone to the labour adda at Tower Circle on Wednesday morning in search of work. The accused allegedly approached her, promised to provide work and took her on a motorcycle to the outskirts of Nustulapur.
Police said the man allegedly snatched her gold ornaments and pushed her into an agricultural well when she questioned him about the work. Laxmi managed to stay alive by holding on to a support inside the well and remained trapped there for nearly 24 hours.
The owner of the agricultural field heard cries for help when he visited the well on Thursday morning. He alerted the police and nearby farmers, who rescued the woman using ropes and a cot.
Police reached the spot, shifted the victim to safety and registered a case against the unidentified accused. Efforts are on to trace and arrest him, police said.
