Woman Doctor Who Lent Her Name for Namratha’s Surrogacy Fraud Tries to Flee, Detained

Hyderabad: Immigration officials have detained a woman doctor at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in connection with alleged irregularities at Universal Fertility Centre, following a lookout circular issued by the police. The detained doctor is likely to hand over to the investigation officer shortly.

The Hyderabad police, meanwhile, registered at least four fresh FIRs naming several associates of key accused Namratha in alleged fake surrogacy and child trafficking incidents.

The police continued its questioning of the accused Namratha on Monday. She did not cooperate with the police in giving details stating that it is a cooked-up case. As a result, the police are likely to file a petition before the court seeking extension of her police custody.

When Narmatha’s medical license was cancelled by the authorities for indulging in similar offences previously, she approached the woman doctor and took licenses on her name for running Universal Fertility centre at Secunderabad and other places in Andhra Pradesh.

When the doctor was trying to flee Hyderabad, the immigration officials detained her and handed over to central forces at the airport for handing over to the Hyderabad police for further investigation.The police are likely to question Namratha along with a woman doctor for getting leads in connection with the case.

Similarly, the Gopalapuram police, who conducted raids on the private clinic, registered a fresh FIR against Indian Sperm Tech located at Regimental Bazar for violations.

The clinic was run by owned and run by one Pankaj Soni. Cases were registered against the staff members, middleman P. Manikanta and an egg donor.

According to police, Pankaj was running the lab without registration from district registering authority. He indulged in collecting semen and eggs illegally and selling them to private health facilities.

The police also seized donor consent forms, donor names and payment register, Surrogacy Act book, surrogacy application of a woman, semen supply register, semen sample files, semen out word stock register.
