Hyderabad: Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Friday said the state government would provide funds to the caste corporations it has recently formed and also guidelines on how to spend it. He said the formation of state-controlled corporations for different backward classes by the Congress government is unprecedented. These corporations would work for the welfare of the concerned castes, he added.
Prabhakar, who attended an event where Dongari Venkateswarlu assumed charge as the Chairman of Perika caste corporation, said the newly formed caste bodies would implement special welfare programmes, according to an official release.
The state government would soon allocate funds and issue orders outlining the responsibilities of the corporations and instructions on how to spend the funds. He praised the Perika caste for running a hostel for students in Hyderabad since the last 50 years, among other welfare initiatives.
