White Ration Cards for Retired Singareni Staff

Adilabad: Mancherial Congress MLA K. Premsagar Rao announced on Monday that white ration cards (social security cards) will be issued to families of retired Singareni employees in Telangana’s coal belt areas. This initiative aims to support thousands of families by making them eligible for state welfare schemes.

Premsagar Rao stated that the issuance process will involve verifying applications through gram sabhas and municipal bodies, targeting retired employees in Bellampalli, Chennur, and Mancherial Assembly Constituencies. Approximately 15,000 families in the Mancherial district, including 9,000 in the Mancherial Assembly Constituency, are expected to benefit.

Previously, retired Singareni employees received pensions from Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) but did not have social security cards. With recent pension hikes, the state government is now facilitating ration cards to enhance access to additional welfare benefits. Eligibility for the social security cards will be based on annual income, with 70 per cent coverage at an income limit of Rs 2 lakh and full coverage at Rs 2.5 lakh.

Premsagar Rao emphasised the government’s commitment to the welfare and development of Singareni employees and their families, highlighting that this move will provide essential financial support and access to vital services.
