Water Board Issues Warnings To Desludging Vehicle Owners
HMWS&SB warned against unauthorised desludging vehicles and misuse of its logo, announcing strict action and a new operating policy.

The HMWS&SB has warned of strict action against owners whose vehicles are engaged in desludging and cleaning of septic tank, and operating without valid licences or using the water board logo without permission.
The board said some vehicles whose contracts, under the dial a septic tanker scheme, have expired and are still operating. It also found that some unauthorised vehicles were using the board logo.
The water board has alerted the transport and police departments to take action against such vehicles. Vehicle owners found misusing the logo would face legal action, the board said.
Further, the board has decided to frame a special policy, within a month, for vehicle owners regarding the operations of septic tank cleaning and desludging works across the CURE area.
Operation of such vehicles will not be permitted until the new policy comes into effect, it said, asking people to report such vehicles to the board’s 24-hour toll-free number — 155313.
