Warangal Secures 99.97% MGNREGS Coverage in 2025-26: Centre
Under the scheme, the wage payments are directly credited by the Central government to the accounts of the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer protocol
Hyderabad: Around 99.97 per cent of the eligible rural households in Warangal district got employment under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in 2025-26, according to the Ministry of Rural Development.
During the last two financial years 2024–25 and 2025–26, around 99.99 per cent and 99.97 per cent respectively, of the eligible rural households in Warangal district were offered employment against the demand under the scheme.
It is also stated that the average number of days of employment provided per household was 41.12 in 2024–25 and 27.89 in 2025–26.
Under the scheme, the wage payments are directly credited by the Central government to the accounts of the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer protocol. At the beginning of each financial year, admissible pending liabilities of the previous years, if any, are duly reimbursed by the Central government.
Accordingly, all due and admissible pending wage liabilities up to FY 2025-26 have already been cleared. This was stated by the Minister of State for Rural Development Kamlesh Paswan while responding to a question raised by Congress MP Dr. Kadiyam Kavya in Lok Sabha on Tuesday on rural development.
She sought to know the performance of MGNREGS in Warangal during the last two years, including the average number of person-days of employment provided per household in each year.
