Warangal: High tension prevailed in Narsampet after the statue of former MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy was demolished around 3:30 am on Tuesday.
The statue, which had been installed recently opposite Narsampet Medical College, was removed by the authorities. According to municipal officials, permission had not been obtained for its installation. However, official information is awaited.
Reports said the demolition was carried out amid tight security, with around 1,500 policemen deployed in Narsampet. Another 500 police personnel were deployed near the residence of former MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy in Nallabelli.
