Vision 2047 Has Heritage Status in Sight
As part of the roadmap, arts, heritage, and traditional knowledge will be promoted as key elements among education and public life of youngsters.

Hyderabad:The Telangana government has unveiled its Vision 2047 for heritage in state which aims to combine heritage and innovation to enhance tourism, generate employment and strengthen the state’s cultural identity.
As part of the roadmap, arts, heritage, and traditional knowledge will be promoted as key elements among education and public life of youngsters.
Tourism and culture departments, along with communities, will organise heritage walks to create awareness about the rich heritage. A unique identity with the brand Telangana will be created across culture, crafts and heritage.
Further, Hyderabad and districts will be developed with signage reflecting heritage, culture and traditions. Heritage structures will be restored to strengthen the identity.
“The 2047 goal is to make Telangana a recognised global destination, where unique heritage and innovation provide signature tourism experience and support in making business,” officials said.
Further, the Old City Unesco Mission will integrate Charminar, Macca Masjid and Chowmahalla Palace with restorations and heritage lighting. The other goal is to get the Unesco World Heritage Status for Old City.
The vision plans to pursue more Unesco sites in the state for cultural heritage (tangible and intangible), natural heritage, and mixed heritage sites.
Buddhist sites and their traditions will be developed with stronger ties with South East Asian countries.
Step wells like Bansilalpet and ancient tanks in Warangal will be used as open air theatres and night tourism spots featuring curated performances.
The Kakatiya heritage circuit will be expanded from Ramappa temple, Thousand Pillar Temple, Warangal Fort, and onward to Karimnagar’s Elgandala and Medak Forts.
