Vishweshwar Reddy Says Central Funds Used For Farmers’ Welfare Schemes In Telangana

Reddy listed funds extended by the Union government for schemes in the state. He contested the state government’s claim that the Centre was not supporting Telangana in welfare and development programmes, and said the highest quantity of urea was being supplied to the state compared to others

Nalgonda: BJP MP from Chevella Konda Vishweshwar Reddy on Monday said farmer welfare programmes in Telangana were being implemented with financial support from the Centre.

Addressing a press conference at Bhongir in Yadadri-Bhongir district, he listed funds extended by the Union government for schemes in the state. He contested the state government’s claim that the Centre was not supporting Telangana in welfare and development programmes, and said the highest quantity of urea was being supplied to the state compared to others.

He alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and his Cabinet colleagues were repeatedly blaming the Centre with “malicious intention” to tarnish the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The MP said infrastructure development, including roads, drinking water, electricity and railway connectivity, was being taken up with state funds, and stressed the need to improve rural road connectivity and manage water resources effectively for agriculture.

Referring to tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao’s visit to Bhongir Fort, he said the Centre had sanctioned ₹56 crore for the project under the Swadesh Darshan scheme.
