Hyderabad: Joint investigation teams probing the armed robbery at the State Bank of India branch in Koti have recovered the stolen bike of victim Abdul Rinshad, which was found abandoned in Kachiguda.
Police said IT teams examined over 800 CCTV cameras since the January 31 shootout and tracked the dump tower location of a third suspect seen on footage speaking on his mobile prior to the robbery. Call records revealed that the suspect was in contact with a local in Bahadurpura, where he and two armed assailants took shelter after dumping the stolen Activa and changing clothes before dispersing.
Investigators are also probing whether someone close to the victim may have passed information to the robbers, enabling them to conduct reconnaissance and execute the operation. One of the assailants has reportedly been identified as an interstate offender, though police have withheld particulars to avoid hampering the investigation.
On January 31 at 7.05 am, two armed men opened fire on cloth merchant Abdul Rinshad, 26, injuring him in the leg while he was depositing cash.
