VHP Stages Demonstration In Hyderabad Demanding President’s Rule In West Bengal
Irate VHP members raised slogans against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for failing to control violence in the State

Hyderabad: Members of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Saturday staged a demonstration in Dilsukhnagar here demanding that the Central government impose President’s rule in West Bengal in the wake of violence in several parts of the State.
Raising slogans against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for failing to tackle law and order situation in the State, irate VHP members burnt her effigy. She (Mamata Banerjee) failed in all aspects to take action against rioters who continued to create a reign of terror among Hindus and attacking them after the Waqf (Amendment) Bill was passed in the Parliament a few days ago.
VHP national spokesperson Ravinutala Shashidhar said: “For the past one week, violence targeting Hindus have been taking place on a large scale in West Bengal. Thousands of Hindu families have been left homeless in their own State. The State government in West Bengal failed to ensure safety of victims affected by riots with an intention of appeasing Muslims,” he said.
As the violence from Murshidabad was spreading to the entire West Bengal, the Centre must intervene and impose President's rule immediately, he demanded. Shashidhar said the violence incidents should be investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the culprits should be punished immediately.
The central security forces must be deployed in West Bengal to control the law and order situation, and Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators should be identified and deported. The work of putting fencing to the 450-km border between Bengal and Bangladesh, which Mamata Banerjee stopped, should be started immediately.
The VHP further demanded that the Central government take all measures to protect the sovereignty of the country and religious harmony.
