VHP condemns attack on Chilkur priest Rangarajan

Hyderabad: Condemning the attack on Chilkur Sri Balaji temple chief priest CS Rangarajan, the Telangana unit of Viswa Hindu Parishad here on Monday demanded that the State government initiate stern action against those who were responsible for it.
In a statement, the VHP national official spokesperson Dr. R Shashidar said that the VHP would consider the attack on Rangarajan as an attack on the temple system, the priestly system and the social reform system apart from the entire Hindu community.
“The VHP wants the Telangana government to strictly punish the anti-social elements responsible for the attack as per the law. The Hindu society will never forgive the culprits who have insulted the Sanatana Dharma tradition,” he said.
He demanded that the State government constitute a special investigation team for conducting a full-scale probe into the assassination attempt on Rangarajan, and that the police should take immediate steps to sternly deal with the anti-social forces behind the suspects with an iron foot as per the law.
Shashidar urged the Telangana government to provide adequate security to Rangarajan in the wake of the attack on him. “We would like to inform you that VHP will always be in the forefront of Sri Rangarajan’s movement for the preservation of Hindu temples and the awakening of the Hindu community,” he said.
