ADILABAD: Khanapur MLA and Nirmal District Congress Committee president Vedma Bojju on Sunday released water into the left canal from the Kadam project for the rabi ayacut and also let water into the ayacut under the Sadarmat barrage in Nirmal district.
Addressing the gathering, Bojju appealed to farmers to take up crop cultivation in time. He recalled that repair works to the Kadam project were carried out with ₹9.46 crore sanctioned by the state government.
He also assured that damaged roads leading to the Kadam project would be repaired shortly. The MLA said farmers need not worry about water availability, assuring that water would be released up to the tail-end areas under the Sadarmat barrage.
He added that he would apprise Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of the need for further repairs to the Sadarmat barrage. Later, Bojju laid the foundation stone for a plastic waste management unit at the Kadam mandal headquarters.
