Vasantha Panchami Pada Yatra to Basar
Basar temple committee made elaborate arrangements for Vasantha Panchami celebrations on Friday.

Nizamabad: In view of Vasantha Panchami celebrations at Sri Gnana Saraswathi temple in Basar on January 23, people from various parts began pada yatra to Basar from Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts. From Banswada, Birkur, Bodhan and other areas, the devotees went to Basar around 100 kilometres by walk. Few devotees observed month long deeksha for Vasantha Panchami.
Around 120 people from Birkur mandal headquarters in Kamareddy district began pada yatra on Thursday for Basar. On the same lines, Gnana Saraswathi devotees started pada yatra from Banswada town on Wednesday and reached Basar on Thursday night. By staying at road side temples, they continued pada yatra.
Meanwhile, Basar temple committee made elaborate arrangements for Vasantha Panchami celebrations on Friday. It is believed that thousands of devotees will Basar for the darshan of Goddess Gnana Saraswathi in the temple. Police department made tight security arrangement for the celebrations.
