Vande Bharat Hits Biker on Tracks near Ghatkesar, Kills Him

Hyderabad: An unidentified motorcyclist aged around 20 to 25 years died after Secunderabad –Tirupati Vande Bharat Express hit him on the tracks between Ghatkesar and Bibinagar railway stations on Thursday.
The incident occurred around 6.10 am when Vande Bharat Express, which left Secunderabad station and was heading towards Tirupati, hit the biker near Aushapur.
According to the railway police, the man was sitting on his motorcycle and pushing it with his feet while traveling along the railway track near Aushapur along Bibinagar. The speeding train hit him from behind and dragged him for 99 sleeper length before he was thrown on the side of the track.
He suffered severe injuries and died on the spot. The motorcycle was completely mangled, with its parts scattered along nearly 300 metres of the railway track. The police said no identification documents were found at the spot.
The deceased is approximately 5.6 feet tall, with dusky complexion and a birthmark on the right side of his chest. Based on information provided by the Deputy Station Superintendent of Secunderabad Railway Station, the railway police registered a case and preserved the body at Gandhi hospital mortuary for identification and autopsy.
The police initially thought that the biker might be making reels on the tracks when the train hit him. However, they ruled it out saying that they could not find any phone near the spot.
“We are trying to identify the deceased with the help of the vehicle registration number,” a police official said, adding that the biker appeared to have taken advantage of a small pathway adjacent to the tracks and started pushing his motorcycle by sitting on it, unaware of the danger.
