Hyderabad:Irrigation minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy reaffirmed the Congress government’s commitment to making Hyderabad a world-class city and a top global investment destination.
Addressing the Hyderabad Real Estate Summit 2025 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Madhapur on Tuesday, Uttam Kumar Reddy outlined a vision for the city’s future that focused on robust infrastructure development, economic growth, and proactive support for the real estate sector.
Commending the impressive turnout at the summit, Uttam Kumar Reddy expressed his personal connection to the city and lauded its strengths, including its moderate weather, cosmopolitan culture, skilled workforce, and high-quality infrastructure.
The minister credited the previous Congress government initiatives for laying the foundation of Hyderabad’s development. He highlighted the Outer Ring Road, Shamshabad airport, the Metro Rail, and the supply of drinking water from the Krishna and Godavari rivers as milestones that contributed to Hyderabad’s emergence as one of India’s leading cities.
“Hyderabad has grown from strength to strength, and I am confident it will soon be recognised as a global destination for investment,” he added.
Uttam Kumar Reddy highlighted the `1.78 lakh crore in investments secured by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu at the recent World Economic Forum summit in Davos as a testament to Hyderabad’s potential.
He assured the real estate sector that the Congress government was committed to creating a business-friendly environment and proactively addressing challenges. “Our government is available 24x7 for anything that real estate developers or builders require. If there are any issues, you can bring them to my notice directly,” he said.
Uttam Kumar Reddy stressed the government’s efforts to secure Hyderabad’s long-term water needs. “For generations to come, Hyderabad will have enough drinking water. We are building supplementary water lines from the Krishna and Godavari rivers to ensure this,” he said.
He reassured developers of the government’s support and described them as partners in Telangana’s progress. He emphasised the administration’s focus on creating a conducive market for real estate products like flats, plots, and villas by promoting economic growth and attracting more people to the city.
He also highlighted the importance of maintaining law and order, stating that a safe and secure Hyderabad is key to fostering investment and growth.
Uttam Kumar Reddy emphasised that the Congress government’s efforts are not limited to short-term goals but are designed to create long-term benefits for Hyderabad and its residents. “We are here to listen to your suggestions, address your concerns, and ensure Hyderabad continues to grow and prosper,” he said.
