Uppal-Narapally Elevated Corridor To Be Completed By Dasara-2026: Minister
The construction works of the six-lane flyover covering over six kilometers were started eight years ago

Hyderabad: The woes of motorists travelling from Uppal Ring Road to Narapally are expected to end with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Telangana Roads and Buildings (R&B) department started expediting the ongoing construction work of the six-lane elevated corridor.
The R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who inspected the construction works on Wednesday, announced that the flyover would be opened for the public by Dasara festival in 2026. After reviewing the progress of the works, he asked officials to accord top priority to complete the construction work.
The construction works of the six-lane flyover covering over six kilometers were started eight years ago. It will be the second largest flyover after the 11.6 kilometers PV Narasimha Rao Expressway connecting Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad from Masab Tank.
Officials said the delay in land acquisition followed by clearing electric poles and water pipelines apart from getting approval from the police department hampered the ongoing works.
To meet the deadline of completing works by Dasara 2026, officials decided to start concrete segmentation works between pillars from two sides – Narapally and Uppal Ring Road in addition to laying a few more pillars near Uppal.
Of the total 143 pillars, segmentation works at 38 pillars were completed, while works have to be started at 104 pillars. “We are hopeful of completing the works by mid 2026 as we have fixed a target of filling half dozen segments between pillars from two sides using heavy machinery,” a senior official of the R & B department said.
He also clarified that there was no shortage of funds for completing the work as it was fully funded e by the Central government. “We are yet to get clearance from the police to continue work at CPRT at Medipally,” the official added.
He said instructions were issued to the contractor to complete repairs to the road damaged while laying pillars. Adhering to all safety norms, the flyover was designed to travel at 100 kmph from Uppal Ring Road. The travel time of motorists will be reduced by at least 25 minutes to reach Narapally once the flyover is operational.
