University Contract Teachers To Stage Dharna At TSCHE On Oct 15 For Regularisation, Pay Scales

HYDERABAD: The Universities Teachers’ Association (Contract) Telangana State (UTACTS) will stage a dharna at the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) on October 15 seeking job security and regularisation for more than 1,200 contract teachers across 12 universities. The association also wants UGC 7th Pay Revision Commission scales for contract faculty and fulfilment of an assurance it says the Chief Minister gave in April 2025.
Association members met at Nizam College on Tuesday to prepare for the protest and hey released a poster. They also reviewed arrangements for Thursday’s demonstration, which is scheduled to begin at 11.30 am.
According to the association, the Chief Minister gave them the assurance after an 11-day strike in April 2025. It has asked the government to honour that commitment, alongside its demands for permanent job security and revised pay scales for all contract teachers.
