Pani puri, samosa units found violating norms; 25 kg food discarded, action initiated under Food Safety Act

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST), in coordination with GHMC Food Safety officials, busted multiple unhygienic street food manufacturing units in Attapur on July 28, 2026.

During inspections at NM Guda, officials raided one pani puri manufacturing unit and three samosa preparation units, uncovering serious violations of food safety norms. The units were found operating without valid licences, maintaining poor hygiene standards, and using substandard raw materials.

Authorities immediately took action to safeguard public health by discarding 10 kg of prepared samosas and 15 kg of pani puris on the spot. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the operators under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
