UIDAI’s 14 New Aadhaar Kendras Make Services More Accessible In Telangana

The new centres will be helpful, particularly for people who want to access government welfare schemes, banking facilities, and various other services.

Nizamabad:Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has established 14 additional Aadhaar Seva Kendras throughout Telangana, thereby reducing the need for people to travel long distances for Aadhaar-related services.

The new centres have come up in Hyderabad, Warangal, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Khammam, Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar, Suryapet, Kamareddy, Sangareddy, Kothagudem, and other locations in Telangana.

The centres are intended to reduce waiting periods and make services more accessible, particularly for senior citizens and persons with disabilities. The services include new Aadhaar enrolment, corrections of names and dates of birth, address changes, mobile number registration, email updates, and biometric corrections. The centres also provide for Aadhaar card downloading and printing, apart from grievance redressal.

Residents can book appointments through the UIDAI portal or use walk-in services. Earlier, people had to travel to the UIDAI regional office in Hyderabad for certain updates.

The new centres will be helpful, particularly for people who want to access government welfare schemes, banking facilities, and various other services. Cardholders are advised to keep their demographic and biometric information up to date. Children must undergo mandatory biometric updates at the ages of five and 15.

Inaugurating a newly established Aadhaar Seva Kendra in Kamareddy, district collector Ashish Sangwan said UIDAI is expanding its network to bring services closer to people and ensure that Aadhaar-related transactions are handled conveniently and transparently.

Sangwan advised visitors to carry the necessary identity, address, and date-of-birth proof documents, depending on the service required. People should pay only the prescribed charges fixed by UIDAI for various services, he underlined.
