uDaan to Equip Telangana Youth with Tech Skills and Jobs: Sridhar Babu

The MoU was formalised at a meeting held under the leadership of Hon’ble Minister for IT & Industries, D. Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad: With the objective of preparing Telangana’s youth for emerging technologies and connecting skills with meaningful employment opportunities, the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) and Dell Technologies have joined hands to implement the ‘uDaan’ programme in the State.

The MoU was formalised at a meeting held under the leadership of Hon’ble Minister for IT & Industries, D. Sridhar Babu, with the participation of senior government officials, TASK leadership, Dell Technologies and programme partners.

5,500 Students to be Trained Across Telangana

Under the uDaan programme, 5,500 students will undergo a structured three-month training programme across 25 centres in Telangana.

The initiative will focus on future-ready areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Electronics Manufacturing, Emerging Technologies and Digital Skills, along with industry exposure and employability capabilities.

Special emphasis will also be placed on extending these opportunities to students and youth from rural areas, enabling wider access to industry-relevant technology skills.

From Education to Industry – From Skills to Employment

The vision of uDaan goes beyond training. The programme aims to create a comprehensive pathway:

Education → Skilling → Industry Exposure → Employment / Apprenticeship / Entrepreneurship

The objective is to enable students to acquire industry-relevant skills while they are still pursuing their education, rather than waiting until graduation to begin preparing for employment.

By combining technical skills, industry exposure and job-readiness, the programme seeks to provide pathways towards employment, apprenticeships and entrepreneurship.

Industry-Aligned Curriculum and Technology Support

Training under the programme will be based on a curriculum developed by IIT Delhi, with technology support from Dell Technologies.

At the national level, the uDaan initiative brings together Dell Technologies, FITT–IIT Delhi, Learning Links Foundation and Generation India Foundation to equip young people with skills in emerging technology domains.

The initiative in Telangana is being taken forward with the support and leadership of Hon’ble IT & Industries Minister Shri D. Sridhar Babu, creating opportunities for the State’s youth to gain future-ready skills aligned with evolving industry requirements.

For TASK, the partnership reinforces its larger mission of building an outcome-driven, industry-linked skilling ecosystem by equipping youth with emerging technology skills, 21st-century employability capabilities and an entrepreneurial mindset.

The focus is clear: move beyond training numbers towards measurable employment outcomes and create a stronger Training-to-Employment ecosystem for Telangana’s youth. “From Skills to Opportunities — TASK–Dell uDaan aims to empower Telangana’s youth for the jobs and technologies of tomorrow.”
