Two Killed as Car Crashes into Drainage Wall in Hanamkonda District

Four occupants were travelling from Hyderabad to Karimnagar when the car lost control near Uppal in Kamalapur mandal.

Two persons were killed and two others sustained serious injuries after a car veered off the road and crashed into a drainage wall near Uppal village in Kamalapur mandal of Hanamkonda district in the early hours of Sunday.

The car, which was travelling from Hyderabad to Karimnagar, reportedly lost control near Uppal, plunged into a roadside drainage canal, and rammed into a wall. Four people were travelling in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

One of the occupants died on the spot, while the remaining three suffered severe injuries and were shifted to MGM Hospital in Warangal in a 108 ambulance. One of the injured later succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.

The deceased were identified as Kallem Srinivas and Turpati Bhargav, both residents of Lakshmipur in Karimnagar district.

Kamalapur police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the accident.
