Two interstate burglars nabbed

Hyderabad: The Bowenpally crime team has arrested two habitual interstate offenders involved in five house burglaries. The arrests came after a detailed investigation into a series of house burglaries reported under the Bowenpally police station limits, said the police.

The accused are identified as Gjen alias Nagapalla Kishore Kumar, 21, an autorickshaw driver from Shapurnagar, and Chithari Bharath alias Baathu, 21, a labourer from Hasmanthpet, Old Bowenpally. Their modus operandi involved lurking at night, identifying locked houses in isolated areas, entering them by breaking open doors and stealing the valuables.

The duo was involved in house burglaries in Jeedimetla, Bowenpally, Begumpet and Alwal police station limits in Telangana and Yadiki police station in Anantapur, said D. Tulja Ram, DSI, Bowenpally. Police seized silver ornaments, expensive watches, mobile phones, cameras, high-end lenses and a scooter used in the crimes from their possession.

Bowenpally SHO B. Lakshmi Narayana Reddy revealed that the investigation team analyzed footage from over 150 CCTV cameras to identify and arrest the culprits. North Zone DCP Sadhana Rashmi Perumal commended the efforts of the officers and announced that proposals for suitable rewards have been forwarded to the city police commissioner.
