Turmeric Famers Stage Protest in Nizamabad for Better Price
Farmers from Nizamabad, Jagtial and Nirmal districts took part in the agitation for remunerative price for turmeric

Nizamabad: Tense situation prevailed at Nizamabad agriculture market yard as the farmers staged dharna for remunerative price for turmeric on Wednesday.
Farmers from Nizamabad, Jagtial and Nirmal districts took part in the agitation for remunerative price for turmeric. Angered farmers damaged furniture in market yard office and demanded implementation of 2.0 yard turmeric purchase in the market yard. Farmers raised slogans against market committee officials and demanded remunerative price.
A few farmers also reached Nizamabad RTC bus stand and continued their agitation. Despite Rs 15,000 per quintal turmeric price, the farmers are getting merely Rs 8000 to 12000 for turmeric sales. Nizamabad market yard chairman Ganga Reddy and secretary are out of station to explain their opinion on the issue. Farmers alleged that abnormal delay in prices are affected the market.
