Hyderabad: The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) has issued new guidelines to all principals outlining the role of students in managing hostel mess and hygiene duties. In a virtual meeting with officers and principals, the secretary stressed the importance of implementing the "Student Diet Managers, Mess Monitors and Hygiene Monitors" programme with strict compliance.
Principals were informed that failure to constitute the diet committee or to follow the rules would be viewed seriously. They are directed to select eight students from Classes 8 to 10, and nine students from Class 11, each month.
The list of selected students must be displayed prominently on a notice board at the school entrance and in the dining area. Over the course of the academic year (10 months), every student from the eligible classes will have the opportunity to serve in these roles, with no repetition permitted. To ensure this, schools must prepare an annual calendar of duty assignments during the first week of the academic year.
Among the nine Class 11 students selected each month, one will serve as the Monthly Mess Leader, responsible for overseeing all activities of the mess team and providing guidance in case of any issues.
