TRSMA Raises Concerns over Draft Fee Regulation Bill; Submits Letter to Sridhar Babu

TRSMA warned that if the bill is passed as it stands, many budget schools may shut down, affecting lakhs of students

Hyderabad: Telangana Recognised School Managements Association (TRSMA) submitted a letter to minister Sridhar Babu, raising concerns and proposals about the draft bill on the Telangana Private Schools & Junior Colleges Fee Regulation & Monitoring Commission.

The association, which represents around 10,000 private unaided budget schools, wrote in the letter about the proposed parent-teacher committee structure, lack of clarity in school categorisation, and the mandatory website rule.

The association argued that annual fee approvals for all schools would burden both schools and officials, and urged exemptions for institutions charging below Rs.70,000 per annum.

They also wrote about strict limits on fee increases and cash payment bans, and said that such rules are not practical, especially in rural areas. TRSMA warned that if the bill is passed as it stands, many budget schools may shut down, affecting lakhs of students.

The association requested Sridhar Babu and the government to revise the bill to make it more workable.
