The department stated that each inspection team consists of four vehicle inspection officers. The district-level squads will conduct inspections in their respective districts, while the state-level squads will operate throughout the state.
The teams began inspections from Tuesday and 211 cases were registered on the first day against vehicles for violating regulations in addition to seizing them.
The department noted that the violations included non-payment of quarterly taxes, lack of fitness certificates, and overloading. It further stated that these inspections will continue in the coming days and urged vehicle owners to pay taxes to avoid action.
