Transgender Woman Wins As Ward Member In Chityala Municipality
She secured victory with a lead of over 100 votes, marking a significant moment in local body politics.

Nalgonda: marking a significant milestone in the Local Body Elections, Nagilla Sudhakar has become the first transgender person elected as a ward member in Chityala municipality in the district.
Contesting as an independent candidate from Ward 1, Sudhakar defeated nominees from major political parties and secured victory with a margin of over 100 votes. Out of the 12 wards in Chityala municipality, the Congress won nine wards, while the BRS won two.
Meanwhile, the ruling Congress has taken a lead over the opposition BRS and BJP as counting for the Telangana Municipal election progressed in brisk pace on Friday. Out of the 2,582 wards in 116 municipalities, Congress is leading in 825 wards, the BRS in 462 wards, and BJP in 138 wards.
