Traffic Advisory for Shivaratri Around Keesaragutta

Malkajgiri Traffic-I DCP Rahul Reddy added that February 15 and 16 are expected to witness peak rush, after which footfall is likely to dip.

Hyderabad: Traffic diversions will be in place for six days in Jawaharnagar traffic police limits in view of Maha Shivaratri celebrations from February 15 at Sri Ramalingeshwara Swamy Temple in Keesaragutta. The Brahmotsavam celebrations are scheduled from February 13 to 18.

Issuing the traffic advisory, Malkajgiri Traffic-I DCP Rahul Reddy stated that heavy vehicles will be diverted from February 13 to 18. “Last year, a total of 11,000 vehicles attended the event and heavy vehicles were still moving in the premises, which caused congestion. This year, we identified four diversion points in advance and the heavy vehicles will be diverted towards those four points,” Rahul Reddy said Deccan Chronicle.

Reddy added that February 15 and 16 are expected to witness peak rush, after which footfall is likely to dip. “The closest parking facility is about 20 metres from the temple, while the farthest is around 500 metres away. We are arranging shuttle services from the 500-metre point to the temple entrance,” he said and the traffic will be maintained.

Heavy vehicles coming from ORR or Cheryal Crossroads will not be allowed towards Keesara village and will be diverted at ORR towards Ghatkesar or Shamirpet via the ORR and service road. Vehicles from Uddemarri and Bommalaramaram will be diverted at Rangapuram Chowrasta. Those from Shamirpet will be rerouted at Yadgaripalli towards Ghatkesar or via Cheryala towards ECIL. Vehicles from Bogaram will be diverted at Vanneguda X Road towards ORR via Keesara Dayara.
