Hyderabad: Forest department officials are stepping up their search for a tiger whose pugmarks were last seen near Vedurugutta in Karimnagar district four days ago, but has not been seen since the last two days.
There was some evidence that it might have gone towards Jagtial or Peddapalli district. “We are strengthening the search teams and deploying tracking teams from the Amrabad tiger reserve and we hope that we can trace its whereabouts in the next day or two,” a forest department official said.
This tiger had been criss-crossing several districts ever since it entered Telangana from Maharashtra some two months ago and for the most part, had evaded direct sightings and being captured by camera traps placed by forest officials.
