TPCC Starts Talks to Fill Vacant Party, Government Posts

TPCC Pushes Social Justice in District Appointments, Sets Eligibility Cut-Off for Leadership Posts

Adilabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has assured social justice as it prepares to appoint presidents at district, block and mandal levels across Nirmal, Adilabad, Mancherial and Komaram Bheem Asifabad districts. Party observers have begun consultations with local leaders to ensure balanced representation.

Despite the directive, several Congress leaders have expressed disappointment over a deadline imposed for eligibility to contest these nominated posts and District Congress Committee (DCC) presidencies. Sources say that the TPCC high command insists only those who joined before 2017 will be considered, leaving recent entrants — many former BRS MLAs and BJP MPs — silent on their prospects.
Former legislators Atram Sakku, Koneru Konappa, Vittal Reddy, Indrakaran Reddy and Rekha Naik, along with ex-MP Soyam Bapurao, are among those lobbying for nominations. However, TPCC observers will weigh local political dynamics and caste equations before finalising shortlists.
AICC in-charge for Telangana Meenakshi Natarajan has repeatedly emphasised that senior Congress leaders will get priority for all nominated and party posts. Until new appointments are made, Adilabad has remained without a DCC president for 18 months. This has prompted many aspirants to meet TPCC president Maheshkumar Goud and in-charge minister D. Anasuya Seethakka.
Taher Bin Hamdan, chairman of the Telangana State Urdu Academy and TPCC’s Adilabad observer, said a district-level meeting is scheduled for May 7, followed by block and mandal consultations. “We will propose five names for each DCC, block and mandal president,” he stated, “ensuring social justice and fair community representation based on service to the party.”
Observers will submit their recommendations to the TPCC, after which formal elections or nominations will take place.
