'Tourism on Wheels' Initiative Draws Crowds Across Telangana
According to officials, the campaign highlights eco-tourism destinations, pilgrimage centres, traditional arts, handlooms and GI-tagged products, while encouraging local tourism and community participation.

Hyderabad:Telangana Tourism’s innovative outreach initiative, Tourism on Wheels, stationed at major tourist locations, is drawing attention for promoting the state’s rich cultural heritage, tourist destinations, handicrafts, cuisine and unique travel experiences directly to the public. The initiative uses a specially designed promotional vehicle equipped with attractive branding, LED displays, brochures and digital content to spread awareness about Telangana’s tourism potential across districts and public gatherings.
According to officials, the campaign highlights eco-tourism destinations, pilgrimage centres, traditional arts, handlooms and GI-tagged products, while encouraging local tourism and community participation. The programme also aims to support local artisans and tourism-based livelihoods by showcasing lesser-known destinations across the State.
As part of the campaign, the promotional vehicle has visited several major tourist attractions, including Buddhavanam, Nagarjunasagar, Yadagirigutta Temple, Warangal Fort, Thousand Pillar Temple, Bhadrakali Temple, Ramappa Temple, Laknavaram Lake and Kaleshwaram Temple, among others.
The vehicle was also stationed at locations such as Pembarthy, Jannaram in Mancherial district, Kaddam Reservoir and Haritha Indur Inn in Nizamabad as part of the awareness drive. Officials said more than 1,000 tourists have visited the promotional vehicle so far and responded positively to the initiative. Many visitors appreciated the government’s efforts, stating that the campaign helped them gain better awareness of the wide range of tourist destinations available in Telangana.
