Tourism Dept Promotes Yuva Tourism Clubs

HYDERABAD: The department of tourism is implementing Yuva Tourism Clubs and Telangana Darshini Programme with an objective to create awareness among students about the rich tourism, cultural, heritage and ecological assets of Telangana and to promote responsible tourism among the youth.
In an orientation meeting organised here on Tuesday, the department said: “Telangana has secured the No 1 position in India in the registration of Yuva Tourism Clubs, with around 5,000 out of 9000 registrations, reflecting the enthusiastic participation of educational institutions and students in the initiative.”
Representatives from various education departments, universities, educational institutions and other stakeholders associated with youth engagement and tourism promotion attended the meeting.
The Yuva Tourism Clubs programme aims to encourage students to actively participate in tourism-related activities, heritage awareness campaigns, environmental conservation initiatives and promotion of local culture and traditions. The Telangana Darshini Programme seeks to provide students with educational exposure visits to important tourist destinations, heritage sites, cultural centres and eco-tourism attractions across the state.
