Top Poll Officials Inspect Voter Roll Revision Work in Hyderabad

Reddy asked election staff to inform residents that they could also register online through the Election Commission’s voter portal

HYDERABAD: Senior election officials inspected the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral roll process on Friday and directed booth level officers (BLOs) to complete door-to-door enumeration, personally deliver forms to voters and follow Election Commission rules while checking for the names of deceased, relocated and duplicate voters in the list and use the BLO App for the purpose.

Additional chief electoral officer Vasam Venkateswarlu Reddy, visiting polling stations in Khairatabad constituency, and at Filmnagar and MRC Colony of Banjara Hills, as well as polling stations in Kokapet and Manchirevula under Rajendranagar constituency, said any deletion of names must follow Election Commission of India rules.

Reddy asked election staff to inform residents that they could also register online through the Election Commission’s voter portal. The Khairatabad Electoral Registration Officer, BLOs and other officials accompanied him during the inspection.

District election officer and GHMC commissioner R.V. Karnan separately inspected SIR work at polling station 81 in Suman Colony, West Marredpally, in the Secunderabad Cantonment constituency. Karnan spoke to local residents, examined the process and answered their questions. He also reviewed how officials were distributing SIR Enumeration Forms at the field level.
