Hyderabad:The city could soon see tom-tom of drums to draw attention to the ongoing special intensive revision of the electoral roll. Hyderabad district electoral officer (DEO) R.V. Karnan directed electoral registration officers (EROs) and assistant EROs to strengthen voter awareness through tom-tom parties and publicity via the Swachh Auto Tippers.
He reiterated that officials should not ask for any document, including the Aadhaar card, with the enumeration form.
Karnam instructed booth level officers (BLOs) and their supervisors to remain available in their assigned field areas from 8 am to 8 pm throughout the enumeration period.
EROs were directed to furnish updated lists of BLOs and supervisors, and designated centres for collection and digitization of enumeration forms during the weekly meetings with political parties. The DEO invited suggestions from the representatives and assured that all genuine issues would be addressed promptly in accordance with Election Commission of India guidelines.
