TJA Marks 12th Foundation Day With Service Activities
TJA members distributed biscuits and other food items to students of the special school for mentally challenged children
Nizamabad: The Telangana Journalists Association (TJA), affiliated with the National Journalists Union and recognised by the state government as one of the four accredited journalists’ associations, celebrated its 12th foundation day on Thursday with service activities in Nizamabad.
The programme was held under the leadership of TJA district president and district media accreditation committee member G. Sai Prasad.
As part of the celebrations, TJA members distributed biscuits and other food items to students of the special school for mentally challenged children, run by the Sneha Society for Rural Construction in the district headquarters.
Speaking on the occasion, Sai Prasad said that under the leadership of TJA founder Uppala Laxman, state president K.V. Ramana Rao and general secretary Ghori, the organisation had been working for the protection of journalists’ rights and welfare. He said the association had also been undertaking various social service activities.
Sneha Society for Rural Construction secretary S. Siddaiah appreciated TJA for marking its foundation day through community service rather than celebrations alone. He noted that the association had been organising activities such as distributing fruits to hospital patients, providing notebooks to students and undertaking other charitable programmes.
He expressed hope that the association’s efforts to safeguard the professional security, dignity and welfare of journalists would continue to achieve success.
