TIMS Shadnagar Gets Top-Level Push To Speed Up

Top Telangana officials intervene to fast-track delayed TIMS Sanathnagar hospital project amid public health concerns.

Hyderabad: With the long-promised TIMS Sanathnagar Hospital project lagging behind schedule, senior officials from Telangana’s Health and R&B departments stepped in this week to push for faster progress. The hospital is one of three major public health institutions announced as part of the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) network, meant to deliver high-end cardiac and transplant care.

The inspection was carried out on the instructions of the Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy amid growing over slow construction. Health Secretary Dr Christina Z. Chongthu, Roads & Buildings Secretary Harichandana Dasari, Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetty and Additional Collector Mukunda Reddy reviewed the ongoing civil works at the site on Wednesday.

Also present were officials from the Roads & Buildings Department, Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited and the Director of Medical Education, who is serving as the nodal officer for TIMS Sanathnagar. Doctors and senior administrators from NIMS, KIMS, Yashoda and AIG Hospitals joined the walkthrough and gave inputs on how to improve clinical design, layout and service flow.

A revised action plan was prepared after the visit, aimed at streamlining coordination between departments and avoiding further delays. The hospital, once completed, is expected to become a state-run tertiary care hub for cardiac surgery, organ transplants and advanced emergency care. Officials said the government would continue to monitor the project’s pace closely.
