TIMS Sanathnagar To Offer Paid Services, Accept Health Insurance

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is expected to inaugurate the hospital on June 11 and may announce the insurance policy at the event

Hyderabad: The Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS), Sanathnagar, will introduce paid services and accept all types of health insurance, marking a new model for a government hospital.
Officials have applied for accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers, with details of the insurance policy expected to be announced at the time of inauguration or after accreditation is granted.
A senior official said the hospital is currently conducting trial runs and is recording an average daily footfall of about 100 people, despite not yet offering patient services. The number is expected to increase after inauguration, with government hospitals likely to refer patients on waiting lists to Tims.
Under the proposed model, 70 per cent of beds will be provided free of cost to economically weaker sections under Aarogyasri and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The remaining 30 per cent will be allocated for paid services and patients covered by private insurance.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is expected to inaugurate the hospital on June 11 and may announce the insurance policy at the event.
The hospital has been organised into three blocks — A, B and C — with a total capacity of 1,000 beds, including 300 beds for emergency services.
Tims will offer 29 super-speciality departments, including cardiology, oncology, neurosurgery and nephrology. The facility will also include eight VIP suites for international patients, along with 92 single rooms and 100 double-sharing rooms equipped with corporate-level amenities.
