Timely Action By NDRF Saves Five In Munneru
Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao has reviewed the flood situation in the Munneru River close to the Prakashnagar bridge in Khammam district

Nalgonda:A team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has rescued five herdsmen who were stranded in the Munneru river near Chinnamandapam village of Chinthakani mandal in Khammam district on Thursday.
The five herdsmen —Gundla Salaaih, Mondithoka Pullaiah, Gundla Venkateshwarlu, Durelli Srinu and Kukkala Gopi — found themselves stranded when the river’s water levels unexpectedly rose. They quickly contacted their family members and the police over the phone for assistance. In response, an NDRF team swiftly reached the spot and used boats to carry out the rescue operation for the five herdsmen.
Meanwhile, Khammam municipal commissioner Abhishek Augustya said he has surveyed the current flood conditions in the Munneru River under the Khammam municipal corporation limits. Following heavy rainfall in Khammam district and the surrounding areas, the river is experiencing strong water flow. The weather department has issued warnings of potential heavy rain over the next two days. Consequently, orders have been given to all municipal officials to stay alert, he said.
