The villagers were panicked on seeing a tiger at Kavadigundla village of Ashwaraopet mandal in the district

Hyderabad: The suspected movement of a tiger in Bhadradri Kothagudem district triggered panic among villagers on Monday.
The villagers were panicked on seeing a tiger at Kavadigundla village of Ashwaraopet mandal. The tiger, which was roaming on the outskirts of the village, tried to attack a bull. However, due to the movement of the cattle and alertness of the villagers, the tiger fled. After this incident, the villagers immediately informed the forest officials.
Upon receiving the information, the forest department personnel reached the spot and inspected the area. They are combing the forest area based on footprints to confirm whether they belong to a tiger.
Special teams have been deployed to identify the direction the tiger went into the forest. The villagers have been advised to remain vigilant. The officials have warned the people not to go into the forest areas alone, especially in the evening and at night.
They have been asked to protect the livestock and inform the authorities immediately if they see any tiger movements. Locals said that since the surrounding areas of Ashwaraopet are close to forests, wild animals are occasionally seen roaming around.
However, locals said that the sighting of a tiger on the outskirts of the village is a rare occurrence recently. Forest officials are investigating whether the tiger is still in the surrounding areas or has gone back into the forest.
