Thunderbolt Cordon: 65 Offenders Taken Into Custody, 150 Sachets of Ganja, Cough Syrup Bottles Seized

Hyderabad: Over 1,100 personnel from the Hyderabad police, included armed cops, conducted ‘Thunderbolt’, a cordon search operation at Mangaribasti, Habeebnagar. The team took into custody 65 offenders, suspects in theft and drug cases and those facing non-bailable warrants. Police also seized 150 sachets of ganja, 32 cough syrup bottles, a kilogram dry ganja and liquor bottles.

Sajjanar said the searches had been conducted eradicate illicit drug trafficking and anti-social activities, Sajjanar said the police would maintain a zero-tolerance approach and clamp down heavily on individuals promoting narcotics, drugsor disruptive criminal elements. Criminal cases would be registered against all violators to preserve the peace.
Raghunath said that the operation was executed with high tactical precision and commenced at 3.30 am. The extensive sweep involved close coordination among various specialised wings such as the task force, H-FAST, Central Crime Station (CCS), CAR personnel and local police.
Four Persons Arrested, Ganja Worth Rs 57 Lakh Seized
Hyderabad: The Khammam cell of the EAGLE Force, working in coordination with the II Town police arrested four persons and seized 113 kilograms of ganja worth `57 lakh that they were allegedly smuggling, on Thursday.
According to EAGLE Force Director Sandeep Shandilya, a joint team of the Khammam Regional Narcotics Control Cell and the town police intercepted two vehicles on the Khammam Bypass Road. Upon searching them, police found the contraband.
Police identified the accused as Mohan Bhimrav Jadhav, Gopinadh Digambar Sukle, Santosh Tyappa Jadhav and Ravi Jadhav, all from Osmanabad district of Maharashtra. Police said they were smuggling the ganja from Dupalawada of AP’s Alluri Sitarama Raju district to Maharashtra. The vehicles, MH 12 XT 4393 registered to the name of Mahadev Shankar Mundhe of Pune and MH 43 AF 7781 in the name of Bhausaheb Yadav Kshirsagar Ahmednagar, were seized, Shandilya said.
Biker Rams Vehicle Into Electric Pole, Succumbs To Injuries
Hyderabad: A 34-year-old bike rider, Thudi Srinivas, succumbed to injuries after he lost control of the vehicle which rammed into an electric pole in Lalaguda early on Thursday. Lalaguda sub-inspector Ch Vijay said that upon receiving information, police rushed Srinivas to a private hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Police registered a case of rash and negligent driving amounting to culpable homicide in Crime 291 of 2026 under the BNS. Quoting from a complaint lodged by T. Mallesh, brother of the victim, police said he was informed of the accident at about 1.30 am by a person identified only as Chinna. The accident took place at 12.05 am, he said.
Two women died in a fatal accident
Hyderabad: Two women who were crossing the road near the Aramghar labour adda died on the spot when a speeding jeep them at about 6.15 am on Thursday. Police said the victims, Dommala Suma and Chilkamarri Suviamma, were going to attend work at a construction site when a the accident took place.
Police said the jeep driver Jaison, allegedly driving in a rash and negligent manner, rammed the vehicle into the victims while overtaking a car. Jaison surrendered to the police after the accident and has been detained. The driver reportedly cleared the breathalyser test.
The vehicle was heading towards the Mehdipatnam vegetable market, police said. The victims were residents of Satamrai, Sathamrai Rajiv Gruhakalpa, Sathamrai Thanda, said RGIA Shamshabad sub-inspector Md Arshad Ali.
Man Arrested for Sexual Assault On Woman Pedestrian In MLA Colony
Hyderabad: Police on Thursday arrested one Mohammed Ali Furqan for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman pedestrian in MLA Colony. According to the victim, who lodged a complaint with the Filmnagar police, Furqan approached from the rear behaved rudely and assaulted her.
Upon receiving the complaint, Filimnagar police deployed a team which used technical surveillance and arrested Furqan from his house in Langar Houz. Police after examining his phone alleged that Furqan used to frequently view pornographic material,
Police also seized his mobile phone, his two-wheeler, and the clothes he was wearing. Police booked a case of sexual harassment in Crime 326 of 2026, and produced him before a court for judicial remand.
Videographer Booked For Hiring Cameras Worth Lakhs, Refusing To Return To Owners
Hyderabad: Filmnagar police have registered a case against a videographer who hired cameras worth lakhs and cheated refused to return them to their owners. Police were acting on a complaint by Sawan Abhinav of Borabanda, who had facilitated the supply of four cameras from KR Studios to one Jerry of Kerala.
Abhinav told the police that he paid an advance of `50,000 to camera owners. However, Jerry stopped taking his calls. Based on Abhinav’s complaint police registered a cheating case.
