Three Leaders From Karimnagar Seek Governor Quota MLC Posts
Sattu Mallesham, Arepalli Mohan and Harkara Venugopal Rao are among the aspirants for Governor-nominated MLC posts as three vacancies approach.

Some leaders from erstwhile Karimnagar district are trying for MLC seat under the Governor’s quota.
The tenure of three government-nominated MLCs would end in the second week of November.
Though chief minister A Revanth Reddy’s decision is final in the selection of candidates for MLCs, different equations will be taken into consideration while choosing the candidates.
Party source said, out of the three, two seats would go to BCs. Two graduates’ constituency MLC posts have already been earmarked for Reddy leaders including Ramreddy Sarvotham Reddy (Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal) and Soma Rammohan Reddy (Mahabubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad).
The SC and Brahmin community leaders would also be allocated one each MLC seat, sources revealed.
District libraries council chairman Sattu Mallesham is reportedly making serious efforts for an MLC post. Hailing from a BC community (Munnurukapu), he is close to Revanth Reddy. Mallesham met the CM and urged him to consider his name for the post.
After the dismissal of Konda Surekha, there was no representation for the Munnurukapu community in the state cabinet. The people from this community are unhappy with her sacking. Hence, a Munnurukapu leader might be given an opportunity, a senior Congress leader felt.
Senior leader and former MLA Arepalli Mohan is also trying for an MLC seat under SC category. Starting his political career as a sarpanch, Mohan had worked as ZPTC, Zilla Parishad chairman, Manakondur MLA and government whip.
State government adviser, Harkara Venugopal Rao, is another aspirant for MLC seat, from Karimnagar. Hailing from the Ramagundam coal belt area, Venugopal Rao is trying for the post under Brahmin quota.
