4 Farmers Die In Rain-Related Incidents In Mancherial
Eight injured, two critical after separate incidents at procurement centres during unseasonal rain and storm

ADILABAD: Four farmers died in two separate incidents in Luxettipet mandal of Mancherial district on Tuesday night amid heavy rain and strong winds.
In Gampalapalli village, a father and son, Tanugula Nagaraju, 50, and Abhiram, 22, — died when a wall collapsed while they were at their field to protect their jowar crop.
In a separate incident at Kothur village, Nelki Lachanna, 50, of Mutyampet in Dandepalli mandal and Gudarapu Venkatesh, 24, died after a wall collapsed. Five other farmers injured in the incident were shifted to a government hospital in Luxettipet and later referred to Karimnagar for treatment.
Family members, along with BRS leaders including Jeevan Reddy and Diwakar Rao, staged a protest in Luxettipet, alleging delay in paddy procurement by the state government. Jeevan Reddy said the delay had contributed to the deaths.
In another incident in Korsini village of Chithalamanepalli mandal in Komaram Bheem district, a woman, identified as Sidam Suguna, 45, died after construction material fell on her during the rain.
Mancherial MLA Kokkiral Premsagar Rao announced Rs 2 lakh as personal assistance to each affected family, while the state government will provide Rs 5 lakh compensation.
