Khammam: As part of Thalassemia awareness marking World Thalassemia Day, Thalassemia &TSCS in association with Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Khammam Felicitate Children and Coordinators at a special Thalassemia awareness event Sickle Cell Society (TSCS) successfully organized a grand awareness and felicitation event in Khammam, honoring 15 children with Excellency Awards for their courage and achievements. The society has also recognized and felicitated all Voluntary Blood Donation camp coordinators for their dedicated service.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 250 attendees, including patients, families, doctors, volunteers, and dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion Hon’ble Member of Parliament Shri Raghurama Reddy said, "Thalassemia needs special attention and we are pledging to work towards it awareness and eradication. We are working towards discussing issues related to it even in the Parliament. We will surely commit to take up the concern to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and Health Minister, reflecting his strong support for this cause."
The initiative spearheaded by Ms. Ratnavali Kottapalli, Vice President – TSCS, along with TSCS staff organized the unique felicitations along with special cultural performances by Thalassemia children, along with fun games and engaging activities, bringing smiles and positivity to all.
Speaking about the event Ms. Ratnavali said, " We from TSCS express our gratitude to all participants, stakeholders for making the event a meaningful success. TSCS extends its heartfelt appreciation to Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Khammam and Indian Medical Association (IMA) for their continued commitment.
