TGSRTC Wraps Up Medaram Operations

City services are expected to gradually go back to normal

Hyderabad: The Telangana Road Transport Corporation (TGRTC), which handled the bulk of public transport arrangements for the Medaram jatara, concluded its operations on Sunday evening a day after the festival concluded. City services are expected to gradually go back to normal.

The RTC had deployed 516 buses from the Hyderabad region to cater to major traffic-generating points and facilitate smooth movement of pilgrims.

In addition, 559 special bus trips were operated from Uppal X Roads between January 25 and February 1. During this period, nearly 20,000 passengers were transported directly from Uppal crossroads to the Medaram Jatara.

As part of the operation, 3,450 employees, accounting for about 45 per cent of the Hyderabad region workforce, actively participated in Medaram duties.

Sudha Parimala, regional manager, Hyderabad region, said, “The successful execution of Medaram operations reflects the dedication, coordination and tireless efforts of drivers, conductors and supervisory staff in delivering efficient and reliable public transport services during the Jatara.”
