TGSRTC to Focus on Diesel Saving
Nagi Reddy said the corporation must streamline diesel consumption and prevent wastage by ensuring efficient use of fuel

Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) vice-chairman and managing director Y. Nagi Reddy on Friday called for measures to reduce the operational burden on the corporation amid rising diesel prices.
Addressing a ‘Diesel Management – Awareness Seminar’ organised by Bharat Petroleum Corporation at Bus Bhavan, he highlighted the impact of global energy conditions on fuel prices and the consequent strain on the transport sector.
Nagi Reddy said the corporation must streamline diesel consumption and prevent wastage by ensuring efficient use of fuel. He directed officials and technical staff to adopt technology-driven monitoring at depot level and follow best maintenance practices to maintain vehicle fitness.
He said fuel conservation should be treated as a shared responsibility beyond routine duties, with employees expected to contribute to reducing consumption.
Officials were instructed on maintenance of ground fuel tanks at depots, while experts briefed staff on improving diesel mileage and ensuring early detection and rectification of technical issues in buses. The focus, he said, would be on improving operational efficiency to manage rising fuel costs.
