TGSPDCL Issues Safety Advisory for Muharram Procession to Ensure Uninterrupted Power Supply

The discom also asked people to stay away, if they spot a snapped or fallen power line and report it immediately to the electricity department.

Hyderabad: The TG Southern Power Discom Company Limited (TGSPDCL, southern discom) issued an advisory to the public taking part in Muharram procession asking them to avoid gathering near electric poles, transformers, overhead lines and keep long flags, metal objects and other tall items clear of wires.

The discom also asked people to stay away, if they spot a snapped or fallen power line and report it immediately to the electricity department.

Discom chairman and managing director, Jitesh V. Patil carried out a surprise inspection on Thursday in the old city to review arrangements for uninterrupted power supply during Muharram processions on Friday.

Walking the route from Gulzar Houz to Charminar, he examined power lines, transformers, feeders, junction boxes and other infrastructure and directed officials to take all necessary preventive measures. He ordered special maintenance teams, vehicles and materials to be kept ready to handle any emergency.

Patil stressed that power department staff must remain fully alert given the expected crowds, with special attention to the safety of poles, conductors and junction boxes and backup arrangements wherever needed. He also instructed close coordination with the police, revenue department, GHMC and other agencies to ensure smooth conduct of events.
